My love for Crochet
It's a new year and we are already halfway through January! The kids are back to school after the Christmas break and slowly getting used to the early cold morning routine. Those aren't fun for either of us. As for me, my "vacation" just begun! I get to enjoy long quiet days at home, that afford me the luxury of working on my new venture, which is this crochet website I can warmly call home. Everything is a bit slow still, but there's something about this new year that feels exceptionally promising and rejuvenating! There were a lot of ups and downs 2024 brought with it, but I am glad to close that chapter, take all the lessons I learned, and move on to a fresh and clean start!
Moving onto my love for crochet, yesterday my husband asked me a simple, yet important question. "If you had all the money in the world, would you still crochet?", he asked me. My first response was, "I think so", but he told me it had to either be a yes or a no; and so, it was an easy YES! I have always called myself a Creative, because creating is something that comes easily to me. Yet of all the multiple creative things I can go months without focusing on, crochet is the one thing I cannot go a day without doing. Yesterday it dawned on me after my husband's simple question, that I have actually found and nurtured a love for something that genuinely makes me happy, and that's crochet!
To some, crochet is simply a trend, to others, it is simply a passion, a therapeutic hobby to pick up after a long stressful day, you name it! Either way, I have a deep appreciation for the positives and benefits crochet brings, because at the end of the day, whatever one chooses to do with it, it doesn't change the mind-blowing fact that crochet is the most satisfying process of transforming with your very own hands, strands of yarn into stunning creations!
This brings me to the point I want to drive across to you today, that sometimes, life is simply about embracing the little bits and bobs that make you feel joyful, peaceful and a childlike giddiness inside! A hook may just look like some funny shaped metal stick which may not hold much significance at first glance, but coupled with soft fluffy yarn and a pair of hands, magic is created into any shape, form or size! Balance is found in the simple things in life, and sometimes you do not have to look too far. It took me a few years before finally realizing that the little crocheting hobby I always overlooked, was the very thing that gave me a huge sense of balance and joy. That which makes you happy and excitable, gives you the inner balance and growth you need to turn a simple thing into something magnificent!
